WHERE TO RIDE ON MALLORCA

SINEU TO THE MOUNTAINS.

They say that Sineu delivers solitude. That rings a bell for every adventure cyclist, so it’s a good place to start this ride. On top of that there’s a velodrome close by, if you want to spin some laps on your gravel steed. After leaving town, enjoy the flat roads past horse ranches before hitting the mountains. Literally on the other side of the (train) tracks near Lloseta the climbing begins. There’s a hidden bit of singletrack on the route which may involve hike-a-bike.

The concrete road introduces some switchbacks to the ride, but after the road ends you’ll have to shoulder your bike once more to visit the Castell d’Alaró. It doubles up as a hostel and mountain refuge if you fancy a night in the mountains. Otherwise, enjoy the descent and ride through orchards before hitting the flat back to Sineu.
