Party on the road to Ventoux.
In the shadow of the mighty bald mountain, the giant of Provence, we cheered, we partied and we celebrated the Tour de France at our Bédoin store.
Café du Cycliste Ventoux is the last resupply point for hungry and thirsty cyclists on the road out of Bédoin to the summit, so Stage 16 of the Tour ran directly past our front door.
Before the big day, we hosted no less than four community rides, ranging from a slow-and-steady to a fast-and-furious, a gravel ride up Ventoux and a ride in collaboration with our bike hire partners, Raptor.
But these were all mere hors d’oeuvres for the main event, and in that Ventoux did not disappoint. A thrilling breakaway, a GC battle and a French stage winner – what could be better!
All day, the Café du Cycliste terrace was THE place to be, with the race on a big screen as well as passing metres from the door. We served more than a thousand morning coffees and 1,200 sunset beers over the course of the long weekend.
The festivities will linger long in the memory, and will be hard to beat. Join us next time, to experience one of the craziest parties in cycling!
