Gravel Team: the season so far.

2025 has been a wild ride for Axelle Dubau-Prévôt and Hugo Drechou, AKA Numéro 31 par Café du Cycliste, with some real highlights – notably Axelle’s second place at The Traka, and winning the French national championships in cross-country marathon mountain biking – and some difficult moments.
We caught up with the pair to get their thoughts on the season so far.

How's it been so far in 2025?
Choosing our race calendar and our travel is a privilege, one that we’re very aware of. Being a privateer demands a lot of organisation and takes a lot of time, but it’s the road we’ve chosen and we’re proud. On a sporting level, Axelle is having an amazing season, bringing us a lot of joy and a sense of a job well done. Hugo is being consistent and putting himself in mix, but he's still missing a big victory this year.
How is the level compared to last year?
The level is higher: to be at the front of races requires the same qualities, but more riders are reaching this level this season.

What’s your favourite race so far?
The Traka is increasingly becoming an international benchmark. The event, the courses, the different formats, and of course, Axelle's result make it our favourite race.
And your best memory?
Axelle's second place in the Traka 360. One of the few races of the year where we didn't race together, I [Hugo] was able to follow her race all day (13-and-a-half hours in total) and be there when she finished, which makes it the best moment of the year.
What has been the most difficult moment?
Realising that we can't be in optimal shape all year round, that there are ups and downs. Accepting the downs takes time, but we've got to know how not to be too affected by poor results.
You have nine more races to go, including the Leadville 100. Any lessons to learn from your experiences so far, to better enjoy the rest of the season?
Leadville, one of the most beautiful races in the US. We can't wait to get to the start! Every race, especially when they last more than six hours each, is a learning experience. The question is always the same at the start: should we play the waiting game or attack aggressively? Either way, you’ve got to enjoy making it happen.

What has been your favourite piece of Café du Cycliste clothing?
Hugo is a big fan of the Lorenne jersey: well fitted, lots of pockets and very elegant. Axelle really likes the Giselle jersey – being able to ride light but also to reach the podium in style!
