What's your relationship with cycling?

I ride my bike every day – it’s really my main mode of transport. I never take the Métro, unless I’m travelling and have no choice. I also go road cycling, but I’m mainly into gravel. My vision of cycling is being alone in the woods. I like being alone, really disconnected. Travelling far, even just for a picnic or to discover remote villages. I’m into adventure. If I had to sum it up in two words, it would be ‘adventure’ and ‘discovery’. It’s a bit clichéd, but it’s honest.

You're now the manager of the Paris store. Can you tell us a bit about it?

This beautiful store! I’m super happy it’s finally opened. I think we’ll be able to build a real community, that’s what I want to do with this space. Here in Paris we really have something unique to offer. The goal is for it to be a living space, even for people who know nothing about cycling. There’s a great café, we’re on a very busy street, so it can attract all kinds of people. I think Paris is the ideal place to bring the brand to life. This store will be our playground, and I’ll be a bit like the captain of the ship.

So there are five of you in the shop?

Yes, five of us. What’s great about the team is the diversity of roles – very different and complementary. For example, one person handles stock, another takes care of social media. We also have an expert barista, who’ll make your coffee or matcha perfectly.

And what about the Sentier neighbourhood – tell us a bit about it?

The store is in the Sentier neighbourhood, a historic area for textiles. Back when I had my brand, this is where we came to buy fabric. I got my wedding trousers just two streets from here. It’s a neighbourhood full of fabric shops and a lot of students come here to buy by the metre or get advice from the sellers. We’re also really close to the Grands Boulevards, so right in the heart of Paris. It’s central, lively, and accessible. The idea with the shop is to make it a place where people can come in for a coffee, discover the Café du Cycliste universe and feel the spirit we’re trying to create. And beyond that, we want to share our passions.

This space is a chance to share what drives us and build connections around that.
