LOCAL CRAFT: SELLERIE TOFANI.

Our series celebrating local craftsmanship continues with Sellerie Tofani. Beautiful furnishings for life in the sun or on the ocean wave…

Upholstery is about precision: measuring, cutting, stitching, fitting. Flat fabric becomes form, comfort, and elegance. Scissors. Sewing machines. The sun on your back.
Sellerie Tofani started out in 1993 when José Tofani swapped car seats for boat decks. From a tiny workshop in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to Beaulieu-sur-Mer today, his atelier makes cushions, covers and canopies tough enough for salt and sun, sharp enough for the Côte d’Azur.

The work is a dance between workshop and waterfront and the process is always bespoke. First, careful measurements are taken on site, sometimes with templates, to capture the shape of a boat or terrace.
Back in the atelier, pieces are cut, assembled, stitched, tested, adjusted, then hauled back to the sea. The best fabrics from France, Italy, Germany that durable enough for sun and salt but with refined and timeless style.
Clients return year after year, valuing quality and individuality. Outdoor cushions to match indoor décor, terraces and boats furnished with the same elegance as a home.

Three decades on, Sellerie Tofani is still doing things by hand, by eye, by feel. Made to measure. Made to last, for life by the Mediterranean.
